The Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum at Box Hill School ensures that a breadth and balance of subjects are studied throughout the 11-16 year age range. We follow the intentions of the National Curriculum, but broaden its scope to guarantee that courses are constructed to suit the abilities and interests of our students.
Study skills courses are provided annually, in curricular time, at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and examinations are taken annually to test attainment and progress. The curriculum is delivered through a 10 day timetable, in 55 minute lessons, which allows all subjects a variety of learning slots dispersed across the two-week cycle. Students in Years 7-9 also undertake two expeditions, one in September and the other in June.
For students in years 12-13, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a challenging and balanced programme of education, with final examinations that prepare students for success at university and life beyond. The programme is normally taught over two years and has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.
