Physical Education is not only an enjoyable, rewarding and challenging subject, its health and social benefits are endless. Physical Education contributes to the overall education of young people by helping them to lead full and valuable lives through engaging in purposeful physical activity.
Physical Education is concerned with learning through action, sensation and observation. Judgements are made and effects assessed before, during and after activity so that understanding and appreciation are developed.
All students at Box Hill School enjoy a wide range of physical activities through timetabled PE lessons, Games, Activities and Fixtures.
At GCSE level the AQA Physical Education Spec: B Syllabus is followed, enabling students to:
- Link theory to practice;
- Demonstrate their ability to improve performance;
- Gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the different factors that affect participation and performance.
