Box Hill School has won a Good Schools Guide Award!

The award is the  2007 Good Schools Guide A level Award for Girls taking Art & Design at AS level at an English Independent School.

It was made on the basis of A level results, and in particular on the basis of the popularity of each subject relative to similar schools, and of the success that pupils achieve relative to the other examinations that they take. The aim of the Good Schools Guide Awards is to highlight excellent teaching in individual subjects.

Box Hill School is 50 Years Old!

In 2009 Box Hill School will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee. In recognition of this we have put together a programme of exciting events, which we hope you will come along to. We have also launched our Jubilee Appeal, where we are raising money to provide special Jubilee Bursaries to students who could both benefit and contribute to Box Hill life, but whose financial situation would prevent them from doing so. As part of the appeal we are also wanting to raise money for structural works within the school, including the build and development of a new music block that will provide better facilities for the students. For more information on the Jubilee Celebrations and the Jubilee Appeal, please see the Jubilee section of this site.

Brand New Website

Welcome to the new website for Box Hill School; we hope that you like it. In addition to this site being easier to read and navigate, it contains a range of useful information and images about the school and its environment.

You can view information about the curriculum and the IB diploma course, which we are offering from this year, find out what it’s like to be a border at Box Hill School, look at a calendar of forthcoming events and see what types of activities the students can take part in at the school.

We will be updating the site regularly with news, reports, curriculum changes and bus timetables so keep checking back to see what’s new. If you are a parent or old pupil, please also see the sites that are specifically relevant to you. We hope you like this new site. If you experience any problems using it or would like information which is not contained here, please contact sally.yates@boxhillschool.org.uk

Internationally Renowned IB Diploma Now At Box Hill

From September students will now study for the IB Diploma. This is designed as an academically challenging and balanced programme of education, with final examinations that prepare students, normally aged 16 to 18, for success at university and life beyond.

The programme is normally taught over two years and has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities. For more information, please visit the IB Diploma section of this site.

New and Improved Library

Box Hill School has a fantastic new Library, containing an abundance of new books. The departmental libraries will also be transferred to this central facility, which occupies the old drama studio. A separate website and catalogue has been developed for the library, which will help with the identification of relevant books and materials for projects and coursework – it even has a map which shows users exactly where chosen books are located. For information about the library, please contact paveys@boxhillschool.org.uk
